“Moody and epic” are two words not often seen together, but when it comes to cinematic alt-rockers Layaway, these two words turn into a match made in heaven. With soaring vocals and crushing rhythms, combined with a polished, high energy live set, these Scottish rockers have been moving from strength to strength. Hailing from Glasgow and the west of Scotland, Stewart Matheson Vocals and Rhythm Guitar Rob Lees Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals Euan Wilkie Drums and Fraser MacDonald Bass and piano have polished their sound with influences such as: Lower Than Atlantis, Angels & Airwaves, Thrice and Queens of the Stone Age to deliver a whole new experience to the Scottish alt-rock scene. Formed in 2016 with Stewart, Rob and Euan the band has evolved over the years, moulded by experiences such as headlining the legendary King Tuts multiple times and blazing a trail along the length of the UK on tour. The band received the last piece of the puzzle with their latest member, Fraser on bass in July 2019. Since then, the band has stacked up some outrageous achievements such as headlining the legendary Barrowlands Ballroom for Glasgow’s Pride festival and playing a BBC Live Session on the BBC Gaelic show Rapal. Lockdown seen the band continue writing and developing their sound, in a time where so many stopped they have lined up the next few years to continue the Layaway story and flourish.
